    Hi guys,

I'm thinking of doing my teaching practice in galway community college. I have heard it is the most challenging school, with very challenging students. Can anyone tell me if this is true! Or has anyone done their teaching practice there?

    Thanks :)

    Hi,

I read on an old forum post that someone met with the principal about doing teaching practice there. They said in the forum that she gave them somewhat of a health warning regarding the challenging and confrontational nature of the students. I have no idea what they are talking about, hence im asking here what the school is like. Im not from galway so I know nothing about the school. For my first year of teaching practice though, I would like a school to ease me into it as Im nervous enough. should the students actually be challenging and confrontational I fear I wouldn't get as much out of it as I could.

Talk to the principal about what you should do if you come across any issues.

Find out what the ground rules are as you can be sure that the students will know inside out just how far to push things especially with a nervous first timer. You'll be grand! Best of luck. :)

Keep in mind management has completely changed here. I'd always check that and Dept. Reports when judging somewhere otherwise you could be out of date.
