Thinking of getting a GPS tracker fitted to a new car. I want to be able to track the car in case it is stolen and I also sometimes have my bike which is worth a bit and other stuff in the car as well.
Are they worth the investment and has anybody experiences of it.

Im investigating the same atm and it seems the best option (i found for myself) is to get a GPS tracker together/included in an alarm.

The other ones I found so far would be something like texting a sim card and then getting the nav code.

Doesn't look like it's available yet, but http://www.tracknstop.com/ seems like a very good system, if the price is right.

They presented to us in work a couple of weeks ago and we were all very impressed.

More or less guaranteed your car back if it's nicked. You can remotely disable the starter motor, and in conjunction with the authorities, vehicle can be disabled while it's being driven.

There are gps trackers that you don't need a monthly subscription for. Text the device with a command and it sends a message via sms with a google map link. Text another command to cut the engine. Cost around €100 and easily self installed. Ebay.

The TK103 is the one that I have used. Great piece of kit with lots of features.
the only downside is that its chinglish manual needs a lot of careful reading.

Obviously you get what you pay for. The quality feel a bit light but I has worked faultlessly for over 6 months now. It certainly helps me sleep a lot better at night knowing that I will be alerted immediately if anyone breaks into the car and I can find it if stolen once its not burned out or they have managed to find and destroy the unit.

TK103 A and B are the 2 options, the only difference is that the B version comes with a key fob to arm it.

These are seem to sell for 30-100 £ but they all look the same to me.

you can also buy the shake sensor and siren separately.
