Hi can anyone help please my daughter is on casual jobseekers allowance and just got her letter that her means are 12 euro a day. Does this mean for every day she works she gets 12 euro deducted from her, for example she works 3 days she gets 36 euro deducted from jsa so would get a payment of 64 euro. Because she also got a cheque that falls way short of that if its right. Thanks

i have been trying to figure this out myself, i work 3 days and was means tested at 118
    i assume ill get nothing
although i know people who do so i have no idea what way they work it out

what i do know is if she works 3 days she will only be paid for the remaining 2
so if the means is €12 a day she will lose €12 each day that they pay which in this case is 2 days,

    €100/5 = €20
    so 2 days is €40 - €24 = €16

its a terriable system. they work each day out as a full day, regardless of the hours worked

If the means are €12 per day then on JSA you loose €12 per day not worked. So if she works 3 days and her max rate is €100 based on her age she will receive €64 as you stated. JSA is paid over 6 days. Payment is made based on 6 day week less the daily means for each day:
    E.G.
    3 days worked
    Personal rate €100 lees €36 (means X no. of days worked 12x3) = €64

    2 days worked
    Personal rate €100 less €24 (12x2) = €76
