water resistance question

My chronograph watch has a 100m rating. However is it safe to operate the chronograph underwater? Will pushing the buttons flood my watch? I honestly have no idea if the rubber seals on the buttons will agitate a gap to allow water into the casing.

    Thanks

As a rule of thumb, no buttons should be operated under water unless specified by the manufacturer. If they specify that the buttons can be operated, then it's safe to do so. Otherwise, I wouldn't risk it.

The manual says the crown shouldn't be operated but doesn't say the push buttons for the chronograph cant be.
