Sky+ Freezing

Hi I have a sky+ box about 7/8 years old. Over the last three days it has started to freeze for between 10 to 30 second every few minutes. Very annoying as you can imagine. I have only been able to watch stuff I've recorded because of this. I've done all the usual stuff like turning it off at the mains and resetting the box but no improvement.

Any suggestions or is it an old box that needs replacing?

Is it an hd box? or just a sd box?

    It's a standard box.

I would dust the area on a weekly basis. Would I need to get Hoover at it to suck the dust out?

it could be your dish. I would hazard a guess your dish needs renewing if its also 7/8 years old?

I have a sky+ HD box in another room that is only 3/4 years only and have no problems with that.

Swap the boxes around. If the issue is still there, then it is either the cable feed or the port on the lnb (if this is a quad switch to another port on the lnb) that is faulty for the cable going to the non HD box.
