Crows attacking windows

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of hooded crows (grey crows) attacking windows?
I was in my mothers house at the weekend when I heard a loud knock knock knock on the window early in the morning. Thinking it was someone locked outside I ran to the window to see a grey crow attacking the window!
My mother says he has been doing it each day for the past month now, and has left his feather imprints and dirt all over the windows.

We tried to close the curtains to stop him from seeing his reflection but this doesn't seem to work fully.
I'm going to try a silhouette of an owl or eagle and see if that does anything.
Has anyone else got any other suggestions?
Crows are clever so it will be difficult to trick him but then again he is stupid enough to attack his own reflection!

Is there putty around these windows? They often peck at putty for the linseed oil it contains. Theyvbalsongo for spiders and insects that use the crevices around the windows. You can try putting cord or thread across the window. Use Bluetac to hold it in place an couple of inches out from the glass.

Thanks Srameen, I'll try the string idea. There isnt any putty in the windows, they are new enough pvc windows.
All over the house i could see marks where he had crashed into the windows.
My parents have seen him pecking and clawing at the windows & sometimes he wont leave until they go up to the window and knock on it. So it definitely seems like he see's his own reflection in the windows.
There are tall trees all around the house that keeps glare down, so reflections are quite clear in windows.

I suppose he might give up in another month or two anyway when the nesting season is over?
