My youngfella had minor accident forks gone need replacing .
I managed to get them off and halfords looking for over €200 to suply only replacement part.
The diameter is 1i/8 inch (38.43mm) , will measure steerer length later , colour black and needs a small bracket to accomadate the calipers.

Anyone there got a rigis set of forks that will work without too much modification or welding please ?
Happy to remain rigid or would consider reasonably priced short damped.

hi adrian, what is the axle to crown measurement. these are disk forks, might have something on hand, also what size tyre do they need to fit.

    Jondoe ,

    thanks for offer to help.

Axle to crown 360mm i think , the wheels i will check , stock 26inch 559mm from a quick OE internet scan , il have full measurement later.
Black with the caliper bracket would be ideal .

360mm that's very short... i've got a 420mm and a 400mm, the 400mm is for a 700c wheel but has disc brake tabs too so you could squeeze a 26er disc in there as long as it's not over a 2 inch tyre. the 420mm is a proper rigid mtb with v brake and disc tabs. both are cro mo but not black, spray painted red i'm afraid. if it's definitely 360mm both my options would throw out the steering too much and turning would tend to flop over after a point.

@coiuntry kid , big thanks , i put a 40 offer , settled on 45 if i collect Finglass, but Halfords quoted 206 plus fitting just for the replacement forks.
You'd swear it was lance armstrongs bike i was fixing !! A guy i know recommended here as a source of good bike advise and he was right.

lets hope serial number is on the frame and not some poor misfortunes property broken for spares.

just saying thanks , i'm not there yet but on right path.

    Good stuff
I'd say you'll be ok with that frame... Thieves are too lazy to strip them and well the bits..
    Best of luck.

i met the adverts guy selling the subway frame earlier , all looks good , good condition , very light without wheels and kit attached, nice seller decent sort , we met at dundrum shopping centre after a barrage of poor communication because of language barrier , finally his friend Claus chimed in to assist and deal done and collection arrangements sorted , home to Tipp to try to remember which way about those washers go to swop forks.

i just want to thank all here who turned a 200 euro problem into a 50 euro problem and we are bacw on stock equipment all around.

Boards.ie and the contributors theron that make it usefull all the way ....
