Android tablet: can't install full versions of apps on child's account

I've searched for help with this to no avail; hopefully someone here may have an idea what's going on! My 5 year old has an Asus MemoPad HD Android 4.2 tablet. I have the main account on the tablet, and him his own logon. His logon is usually linked to the Kids Place app - giving him a homescreen with only the apps I let him use. We've had a strange problem recently. Basically, we can install demo / trial versions of apps to his account (both with and without Kids Place running) and run them fine. We can also install paid for full versions of these same apps - but they won't run ("Unfortunately, XXXXX has stopped" on launch). This happens no matter how much cache and data clearing and uninstalling and reinstalling I do. However, if I install these full versions to my own account, they do run! Obviously I want to keep his access restricted to his own account. Anyone have any idea what the issue is? Thanks!
