    Hello
On the superquinn website it says they will give you 20.00 off your first online shop and all you need to do is sign up. It does not show any discount codes or any other info such as a minimum spend, but having signed up and put through a 'basket' of groceries, no disount was made at the online check out. Does anyone know how this is supposed to work please?

They normally send you an email shortly after you sign up with the discount codes.

Hi Fullblownrose, if it is your first order that discount will apply automatically without the need for any code. If you are still having problems they should be able to help you on 1890 456 828. Hope that helps!

What is online shopping like? Always wanted to have a go but never tried.

What worries me is the sell by dates, when i go shopping i always pick something at the back of the shelf, no point at all in doing an online shop and all the stuff has to be used within 2 days

The online shopping pickers generally do the same...

Superquinn are the best I find for getting you the freshest stuff compared to tesco. Sign up and every week the send an email out with offers. Often 20e code or free shipping on it.

Tesco are a disaster for giving good with short sell by date,I got pitta bread that went off the next day from them last week!

I have done it once only with Tesco but you should check best before dates if possible before the delivery guy leaves. He should take back if your not happy.

Yeah the pickers are bad for picking short dated stuff. We shop a lot as it is convenient for us to have it delivered. My oh is a chef so picks fresh food that looks well and is long dated. Many times we have ordered items and asked them to be taken back as they look terrible. I was given wilted baby gem once. We just go to the local supervaku to pick uo the bits that were sent back. It doesn't happen all the time though and it will never be more tha 2 items.

I was trying to put an order through but had budgeted based on the introductory offer, in the end i couldnt cancel it and i suppose the items were picked and ready by the time they went to put the payment through and it didnt go through :( Felt bad or wasting the pickers time. Someone from the shop phoned me and he told me he had even put me down for free delivery :( I thought that was really nice of him. I will definitely shop with Superquinn online when I have figured out if there is a minimum spend and when I am need that many groceries to qualify for the discount. Or even the next time I'm going to shop online, regardless. I usually use Teso but would be happy to be supporting an Irish business too.

I have not notied the use by dates on delivered groceries tbh as we go through everything really quickly :D
