Hi,my boyfriend and I are applying for the de facto visa . I'm Irish and he's Brazilian on a student visa stamp 2. We're together 2 years but only living together 2 months. Will this be a problem? We have bills, the lease, photos and flight emails as proof of our relationship. Also we're traveling to Brazil in a month and a half, is this too short a time to get the visa processed? Where on the website can we find the right form? The only form we can find seems to be if you're living abroad and wanting to come to Ireland. Thanks :)

If you have to be cohabiting for 2 years. Here's the info:

    http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/De%20Facto%20Relationships%20with%20an%20Irish%20National%20or%20Irish%20Resident%20-%20Guidelines%20for%20applicants

You should probably see an immigration lawyer. I'd imagine even if you had a perfect case for the defacto visa that it would take longer than 1.5 months to get it processed.

Posting under your first name and talking all about how you and he defrauded the government probably isn't a good idea, to start.

It won't be a visa he's applying for, but permission to remain. There's no form for this, you just write a letter. It will definitely take longer than 1.5 months.

Can anyone give me any advice with regards appealing a refusal?
Is the appeal looked at by the same people in the department?
Any time frames? Is it best to use a lawyer?
    So dishearten
