    Yip, I did it today.
On the web site it did say that there was only 1 "water stop" for a "drink and a snack", so I was not expecting a feast and stuck some goodies in my back pocket.
Welcomed soup and sarnies on our return was nice.

Best sportive in a long time. No nonsense. Great route, well signposted. Great optional climbs that you could do as often as you liked. Can't understand why anyone would want to stop halfway through and gorge on rubbish for 45 mins before getting back on a bike. It makes it torturous to get going again and all the groups break up. A few bananas and water is all you need. There was loads of food at the finish.

2 macaroon bars and a banana hit the spot at Carrick just nicely, best not to hang around too long in them conditions anyway. Will get cold and seize up. A few racers in the field there today I'd say, pretty nice pace being pushed at some stages!!

My first time doing this tour, very tough route but that was expected the signage and the Marshalling on the course was excellent, must say i can see the point of the o.p. Even though i had enough to get me around there was very little left when we got to the food stop, grabbed 2 bits of chocolate and mentioned to the guy that there was more guys behind us he mumbled some curse and got on the phone in a not too happy mood. At the finish apart from signing out the hall was locked up and nothing was on offer, bad form from the organizers imo.
They knew there was people still out there because of the signing out process so no excuses.

Very well signposted and marshalled, tough route and I didn't try the 2 climbs!!
Pity about the weather - it caused a bit of havoc on the descent from Mahon Falls apparently, with a few tumbles.

Regarding the stop in Carrick-on-Suir, for these small/charity sportifs I never expect a big feed so I was happy enough with some water and bit of cake.

Definitely do it again next year and aim to include the 2 climbs.

Come on,a cup of tea or Coffey with a sandwich would not be gorging yourself in the middle of a 113km tour , nor break the bank. it is a day out.in every tour I've done you get at least a cup of tea,all the people I met agreed the food was very bad. Also when we were going home there were still a lot of people coming back to nothing.

Yerra when I was your age we didn't even have bananas. We'd cycle a hundred miles before milking the cows.
