    Hi

    We are thinking of holidaying in Ile de Re in France in June of this year. Everything I have read about it seems great, however, I am a little concerned about the weather. Has anyone stayed there in June, if so what kind of weather did you have? Would you recommend going at that time? Thanks for your help.

    while not having stayed in Ile de Re I have stayed close enough on a couple of occasions (about 30-40 mins further south) and in June the weather on the west coast of france can be a little hit and miss.

    You will get days of glorious sunshine and mid 20's .. but just as likely to have 17deg and persistent rainfall and clouds. But the area is lovely and well worth a holiday.

    Thanks so much for your reply, I really appreciate it. We are going to go in June and take our chances on the weather. It is supposed to be beautiful.

    I stayed on Ile De Re many years ago and visited there recently. It's great for cycling / walking. The island was the last point of departure for Papillion and many other convicts who were shipped to Devils Island the French prison colony.

    As far as sun etc is concerned its like a warm Connemara - prone to rain even in the height of the summer.
