Started already, cunego paolini and adam hansen in a group of 9 a minute up the road.

Forgot cunego was in the giro tbh

Ladbrokes last night for the overall had Quintana virtually even money & Uran, 3 minutes up the road, at 2/1. Quite odd I'd have thought.

Looks like Quintana and Pozzo are a cut above Evans and Uran in the climbing stakes right now.

Maybe so but they still only pulled 20 or so seconds out of them & in Quintana's case is 3 minutes behind. So maybe they're calling it right but I wouldn't have thought it fairly reflects the reality.

Only 20/30 secs on a short enough climb altitude wise, wait until next week when they go over 2000m, different story altogether and the proper climbers could take minutes back in one day

Maybe so & I wasn't tempted either way.

Eursport France dont have pics yet, either, so its a broadcaster issue.....
They are however interviewing Claudio Chiappucci, so if your French is good, it might be a laugh.
    :)

The only tougher sportsmen than the cyclists are the golfers.

Is Arredondo right in the head to attack so early?

Deignan still in the Maglia Rosa group. Is Nico there?

Don't think so, Rodgers is the rider with Majka.

    Deignan on the attack.

    Go on Philip!

Unlucky timing for Deignan that Mick Rogers decided to up in the tempo in the Maglia Rosa group. Doesn't look like he can open up a decent gap.

    Go on Daignan!

Never thought I'd see a fella i was friends with in school pushing out the front in the last 10km of a Giro stage :D

Evans always looks so uncomfortable on the bike.

Deignan came in around 14/15th place.

He crossed the line with Evans and Hesjedal. A great effort.

Super ride from Deignan given the circumstances, that climb broke a lot of people.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,606 ✭✭✭MPFG

Great ride from Deignan .....maybe if he left his attack till a little later ...veryhard climb but he rode it well??

    Aru is very strong
    What happened to Pozzovivo ??
Quintana is not riding like a champion yet
    Uran held on
I have to hand it to Evans....he never gives up...hence his fantastic career for a non pure climber
Best Attacker is Rolland in my book
Arredondo has very weird tactics...needs to learn to time his attacks

Poor Orica-GreenEdge are now down to three remaining riders: Santaromita; Hepburn; and Tuft

God, didn't realise that. They've had some Giro though, I think they will be fairly happy even if they don't do anything else of note.
