Hi, would anyone here have any idea how long it takes to get results of ct scan.

I had a scan over a week ago. Would it be safe to assume that everything is ok, or they would have contacted me by now?

    Thanks

Hi Jake1 i get CT's done every few months & that seems to be the case with me anyway, normally the radiologist does their report the next day after reviewing the scan & forwards on to your doctor/consultant, no news is good news as they say but i suppose each case can be different, hope all goes well for you

I suggest if you do not hear anything in a week or two then get your GP to get the result for you. The irish healthcare system is utter chaos and people too often assume things are carefully followed up. Take ownership of your own health.

Thats a good point Lucas. I will give it to the end of week, and then call.
    Thanks for your response

just to add, I did get another appointment from the hospital to have a CUS echo test ( whatever that is), for July.

I saw a consultant quite recently and made an appointment with my GP
2 weeks later to discuss it only to discover he hadn't received a letter back from the consultant. It seems to be Public hospitals that are like that, even though I paid to see the consultant privately.
