    Hello,
I have been working in Ireland for 4 years, the last 1 year and a half under the same company.
Now I would like to quit my job for medical reasons (that do not qualify for disability allowance).
I know that if I quit I have to wait for 9 weeks, but after this time am I sure to be entitled?
Should I go to Social Welfare and ask them?

    Thank you.

No. If you're not fit, available and genuinely seeking full time work, then you're not entitled to receive a jobseeker's payment.

I would tell them that a full time job was too stressful for me, and I am genuinely looking for a part time job.

My problem is in mental health.

It has to be full time work you're looking for.

Then I will cook up another story.

Then, on citizeninformation.ie it says that

You may be disqualified from getting Jobseeker's Allowance for 9 weeks if you:
•Left work voluntarily and without just cause

My point is: even if I cannot find a solid story to backup and I am labelled as "quit without just cause", would I be sure to get JSA after 9 weeks? Or is it up to the officer?

You won't get it at all if you say that you're not looking for full time work.

If your medical reasons are genuine, a doctor may confirm this, and your social welfare office might agree to another form of payment until you get a part time job. "Cooking up a story" is fraud.

Not a valid reason for giving up employment. There's plenty of people who hate their bosses but don't pack it in.
