    Hey seen this on facebook and had seen it over last few months with updates. Anyway just seen it is supported on Cromecast. Was wondering does anyone use this? is it any good?

    I have Xbmc and was wondering does it work similar?

    TBH I rarely use XBMC anymore, too much of a pain loading it up and clicking through a load of menus and dead links just to play something. Then the constant updates and having to keep up with the latest news on every bloody add-on, the likes of Navi-x being down for months now etc.

    XBMC is great for certain things of course but if you just want to play a TV Series or movie or watch live TV, I think it's quicker using a few stand alone apps on Android instead.

    I had TV Portal from the start and it was great at the time, but then they took months to update it so I moved to other apps. I'm sure their new version is good and it looks like they're back to updating it regularly, but even though I have paid for the app I haven't bothered installing it. They've only just added the Chromecast support, so if that's something you need, by all means try it out.

    Re TV Portal, think it was corkie somewhere else (apologies if it was someone else) who posted way to get tv portal upgrade free from reddit. Basically download the TV Portal app, search for "Reddit" in film search. Box comes up asking odd q about narwal, answer "midnight". It gives you link to premium version.

    Definitely a vast improvement from a few months ago, chromecast support will cost you a couple of euro if you want direct from app(even with premium version) . It shows you only links suitable for casting. Without paying for the chromecast add on, dare say you could use allcast etc but you might need to click a few links before you'll find one that is compatible with chromecast.

    Is there a trial or free version of the TV portal app? Only seems to be a paid app on the play store.

    Just wondering what you use? I really am just dipping my toe in and have XBMC with basic set up so I have 1Channel etc

    Really just use it to watch TV series. Are you just using BBC app/ RTE app etc? Thanks

    I read on their facebook page that TV Portal is down AGAIN. Glad I don't rely on it and never bothered to install their new version even though I paid for the premium when they first started.

    @Big Nelly, will PM you.

    I have it, I've paid for the chromecast and premium but there is a better alternative. I really don't like how there are always loads of mirrors and sometimes you need to try a few before you find one that works.
