    Hello,

My gf's car just failed the nct for the suspension test. Near side 68mm offside 39mm

Anyone know how much it would cost to fix?

If it's failed on one shock it's common practice to change both shocks. What type of car is it make model and year and il give u a beter idea of price.

But let's say give r take 70e each for a shock that's 140 for the two
20 for the flexi brake pipe. So
In and around 160 for parts
I'd say about 250 all in just going with the figures I've given you but if I get the details off ya il give u a closer price

Used suspension struts would be around thirty five each. Not usually too hard to install for you to do it yourself.

No guarantee with them of passing though.

Browsing on line micksgarage new shock struts starting at 55 euro local motor factor is probably similar price
better off with new and replacing both

Yes you could buy used and it might pass that's correct but u could also fail and have to buy new then. My experience with wear and tear parts is replace with new there isn't much of a saving to be made. And you no where u stand.
In my experience fitting second hand parts is a false economy all be it unless it's a engine or gearbox r something but for two shocks I bet ya u will end up doing the job twice
