Car insurance question

    Hi there,

I am just after buying a second hand car after not having one for 5 years. I have a full license and 2 years of driving experience (2007-2009) but my no claims bonus for this period has expired. I called AXA the last day to get a quote and I thought their quote of €750 fully comprehensive was fair (something similar to what I paid to AVIVA back when I was originally driving), but then I got a call back saying that they had made a mistake and my premium would be closer to €1,300. I have left it for the moment and am currently looking around for the best price although it looks like other companies are charging similar. Is there anything I can do to get the price down a bit? BTW I am 35 and living in Dublin.

    Thanks.

Ring around that is all you can do.

You will basically be a first time driver as your NCB as expired. Best thing to so is ring them all. Take about 2 hours but it's the only way to get a full comparison.
