Hi all, building a PC for a friend in the next few days and just want to make sure I'm still up to date on the best build for his money. He has 1k saved up but I feel he doesn't need to spend that much on the tower and can put it towards peripherals like a nice mouse and keyboard.

    1. What is your budget? €800~

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming, LoL, DotA2, Dark Souls/2. Some newer games since he hasn't had the PC to play some on.

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [Yes/No]

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [Hard drive/DVD Drive/Case/PSU/etc.] (If possible state brand and model of the parts to ensure compatibility)

    5. Do you need a monitor? No

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future?
He has a 20" screen that's old and not sure if it goes to 1080p, will probably upgrade in the future.

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Keyboard/Mouse

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? No

    8. How can you pay? Got him to set up Bank Transfer so will be ready to pay once the mail arrives with the mobile authentication. Or debit card.

    9. When are you purchasing? Next week.

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Should be grand.

    Item|Price
    Intel Core i5-4570 3,2 GHZ Tray, 6MB Cache, LGA 1150, VGA|€163.27
    ASRock Z87 Pro3, Sockel 1150, ATX|€78.06
8GB-Kit Corsair Vengeance Low Profile schwarz PC3-12800U CL9|€72.78
Samsung SSD 840 EVO Basic 120GB SATA 6Gb/s|€72.99
    WD Blue 1TB 6Gb's|€48.74
Corsair Carbide Series 200R, ATX, ohne Netzteil|€50.35
Corsair CX Series Modular CX500M, 500W|€56.88
    MSI N760 TwinFrozr 2GD5/OC, 2GB DDR5|€227.87
    Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - Intel/AMD|€30.26
    Samsung SH-224DB schwarz|€13.37
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€833.56

With geizhals and the 10euro voucher off, it should come to a good bit less, if they still have shipping at 13€. It was much less than 19€ last time i shipped with them anyway.

Few questions, is it worth paying 20 more for the extra 200mhz on the 4670 i5?
Still tossing up the merits of the 760 or the ati 270X. He's leaning towards nVidia though.
Asrock Pro3 or Gigabyte or Asus. I think Asrock make Asus boards? so not too fussed there.
He's considering adding a Blu-Ray player. I'd avoid it myself, but he's in Donegal for the time being so good internet isn't possible for HQ video.
I know I'll need to add an extra sata cable.

    Any suggestions? :)

Edit: Oh, and suggestions on a mouse and keyboard combo. He's very used to a low profile keyboard due to gaming on a laptop for years. Razor Arctosa/Lycosa maybe? Or is there something newer?
