    Curragh 3:20

This race looks a pure 2 horse race to me between Kingman and War Command. Aidan O’Brien’s charge was poor enough in the English equivalent but is sure to improve for the run and put in the best 2yo performances of last year. The Favorite looks the most likely winner particularly given the softer than ideal ground but if it stays at the currant yielding then War Command is certainly not an 8/1 shot here. He looks more of a 5/1 shot and those sorts of margins have to be taken.

    1 Point win 8/1 Generally

Why the big drift on Sole Power?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,474 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

    Haydock 2:05

This is a difficult race to start of the Scoop6 and a similar kind of case can be make for most of the field so I’m going with what looks the value bet here in Cruis tothelimit. He didn’t finish his race well at all last time out but he should improve for that and is back to within 2lbs of his last winning mark at Chester last year. He also has Superstar claimer Oisin Murphy claiming 3lbs today. He has come back from poor runs to win and run well numerous times in the past and 25/1 is bigger than I would have expected. I’ll be keeping these sprint handicaps to the min bet this summer as they are for the most part a lottery with a huge element of luck..

    ½ point win 25/1 Various

Why the big drift on Sole Power?

No chance of decent ground id imagine

Mick Fitz said one of the jockeys reported the ground as being soft yesterday. With some rain over night, he didn't understand how the going could be described as good.

Michaelmas has a bit of form on the soft. Hes a nice each way bet @ 28/1.
I find this race is a poor mans Classic - look at Roderic O Connor and Power in recent years. Even Magician won last year and hes not a proper miler.

You need to shop around supreme, Michaelmas only 28s in one spot he is widely available at 50s

I backed Peace Berg at 5s last night at the Curragh, and March in the Listed sprint at Haydock at 9/1. Not a day for going too wild.

Don't usually do forecasts but I agree with Aidan here the guineas is a 2 horse race. I really like War command but I think kingman is a step above and will show that today. I did the forecast last night at 6.41.

I think it's naive to say its a two horse race. Think this is the kind of race where there could be a shock just not sure by who. Obliterater could be one, though at a huge price I wouldn't totally discount Johann Strauss having finally got his head in front last time. He could be seen to good affect under a positive ride

Shore Step, Obliterator and I'll Be Your Clown. Bit of a mouldy head on me so nothing major.

    Be lucky folks.

Lads can anybody tells me what happens done 3*2 euro doubles and a fiver treble. French Navy, Hot Streak and War Command. Does this just go to 3 euro singles and fiver double?

With Moore now on Pearl Secret and he gets his soft ground he's worth a bet at 7/2

Because you won't find an easier Classic to win all season.

Exactly so they must be incredibly concerned about the ground when they are considering pulling him. Imagine ruining the horse on heavy ground today and he doesn't run again this season. It would be silly to run the horse if they're that worried, there will be plenty more options for a group 1 this year if not today

I'd be more worried if the ground was too firm for him.

Unlikely given he has twice run on good to firm. He runs anyway

The horse had surgery for a chipped joint last year. I wouldn't want to see him running on fast ground too often.

Goes to show how poor a race it is with Mustajeeb as second fav. Cant see him even placing here

Should win this in a canter if hes all he is cracked up to be. Went with Johann Strauss each way for a bit of value.

Shocking race turned into a 3f sprint. Winner is miles ahead of anything in that field

Shifting Power should do the business in the Jersey at Royal Ascot after that run today.
