Bonnie and Clyde

Today's the 80th anniversary of the death of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow.
They don't think they're too smart or desperate
they know that the law always wins.
    They've been shot at before;
    but they do not ignore,
that death is the wages of sin.

Some day they'll go down together
they'll bury them side by side.
    To few it'll be grief,
    to the law a relief
but it's death for Bonnie and Clyde.
    -Bonnie Parker

Strange that it's not a bank holiday.

Or maybe that's for the day they were born. Were they both born the same day also?

I prefer the '97 Bonnie and Clyde

They were heroes to a public suffering the Great Depression, getting one over on the banks and the fat cats.
Frankly I preferred Hannibal Hayes and Kid Curry. They never shot anyone.

There was a great documentary about them on Crime network recently. White trash who had no qualms about killing witnesses or anybody who got in their way, they got what was coming to them and not before time. They were certainly glorified and romanticised in that movie with Warren Beatty.

Song is sexy as fcuk... I love pout-singing Brigitte Bardot's part to that rippling, curvy string arrangement. :)

There's some fairly legendary names from that period in American Scangerland, in fairness.

Paul Reynolds is preparing for the Nine o Clock news, something along the lines of "the scene of Louisiana's latest gangland killing, the pair were known to the police, believed to be drug related and police fear a further tit for tat killing"

One thing is for sure, bad publicity or not, Max (complete and utter cnut) Clifford won't be their publicist spin doctor.

We need more Bonnies, and some more Clydes. We have become dead-eyed cissies. Even a bit of "Fun with Dick and Jane" would do.

Clyde was a thug, how do we need more of them ? Bonnie had a bit more potential from what I recall of their biogs. She liked taking photos, she wrote poetry ...

Clyde was damn good at scrapping caddies though.
