Last time a bull fighter was killed in Spain was 29 years ago.

The bulls are killed after every fight .

Thats a bit unfair surely ?

We need to train the bulls better.

I think you might be confusing Bullfighting for a two sided competitive sport.

Mount cannons to the side of the bulls, at least give them a chance. Arm the bulls!

It's a moronic and Barbarian "sport"..

Like something you would see in Game of Thrones

After the right or during.Bulls have a destiny with a dinner plate in fairness.

I can't express enough how much I hate bullfighting. Was at a bullfight as a kid and it upset me. I wanted the bullfighter to get a serious hiding.

Cowards. Prancing around like that while killing a defensless (practically) animal. Let a lion loose on the twats and see how they fair.

Bullfighters who get injured have nothing to complain about. Get into a ring and goad a bull and you are asking for everything it does to you.

It's a poor, poor, low-life form of entertainment.

it's just a culture thing. you eat meat don't you? well then.
also , it's no less barbaric than our "culture" of drinking, turning into a bull and fighting.

It's completely barbaric, and it's not a sport. Sport implies an element of competition, there's no competition here, just torture. And bringing eating meat into the equation is just stupid, there's a world of difference between eating meat and watching an animal being tormented for pleasure.

Lame and stupid comparison. People who eat meat probably expect their meat to have been humanely slaughtered, not run until exhausted, with swords in its back until it collapses and the "hero" comes out and finally kills the animal.

Regardless, barbarism in one culture does not justify it in another. It shouldn't for grown ups anyway.

what if you're not a mad hippie though?

anyway, my point is valid enough. you dont see the spaniards going around getting fvcked off booze and beating each other to death.

my opinion would be that it's better to get that blood-lust out of your system in some other way than to drink it all up until it explodes and it's human v human...

i used to hate bullfights when i was a kid, but i'm in my thirties now and i couldnt care less about some stupid bull getting killed.

it's part of a historic culture in parts of spain, so why would any irish person bother questioning it at all?

also, some people DO like their animals to suffer or they WONT EAT the meat - ever heard of Halal meat??? no? you've probably eaten it numerous times without even knowing.

I'm not a violent or vindictive man, but I fcuking love seeing a bull"fighter" getting gored. Good enough for them.

Been years since I was at a bullfight, had good craic at them.

Would go for sure if they ever did a tour of other countries and came to Ireland.

Why would you have to be a hippy to be against it? I'm far from a hippy and I find it absolutely repugnant.

Surely you can see the difference in someone not knowing where the meat in their big mc comes from and someone sitting down and actually enjoying animal cruelty?

I've been to a bullfight in Spain - many years ago.

    It's horrible.

The bull is fcuked long before the matador even gets into the ring, he's been spiked a number of times and a dude in an armour-plated horse comes out and stabs the bull loads of times with a spear.

The bulls look half-dead at this stage and then this pounce comes out spins the poor animal round a few times before stabbing him - sometimes really badly - and putting a merciful end to the 'contest'.

I genuinely hope that your "actual" life outside the boards.ie realm does not involve you having any sort of influence over any thing, any person, anyone.

most of the spectators are actually there to be horrified by it, rather than "enjoy animal cruelty".

it's a valid way of releasing some outrage, instead of what we do in this country.

not as bad as it is here for that type of street violence though is it? so i'd be well used to it from living in this dump-hole.

I think this might just be the dumbest post I've ever read on boards.ie and that's quite a feat. It's definitely in the top three.
