    Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of concrete imprinting?

I'm thinking of getting an area done at the back of my house.

If anyone could recommend installers by om that would be great too

    Thanks,

    Oisin

is it the imprint concrete mats that your speaking about??

Its all the rage here in the uk… uncles have it done in a sandstone finish and its lovely…. Cousin had it done by some cowboy and it was disgraceful… i ended up ripping it out and laying block paving instead. We dont get the weather in Ireland to complete it without a major risk of issues with damp etc. It needs to be dry for the release agent etc to work correctly

That's the thing I was thinking of alright, concrete gets poured the a release agent then mats.

Thanks for the heads up on the weather

Good advise on the weather. If its done correctly it can look great, but skimping on the "dry shake" can lead to colour dilution. Excess water is the enemy of coloured concrete, whether it is integral or dry shake. If doing it yourself, be careful with the slump and the timing of placing the mats. Never sprinkle water on to help achieve the finish. Seal it as soon as possible after removing the release agent. NEVER add cement pigment to the sealer to achieve a better colour. It leads to all sorts of problems.
