Importing Large Item from USA

    Hi,
    Due to the price difference and far better quality, I'm considering importing a Husqvarna Ride On Lawn Mower from the USA using a Freight Forwarding service. Has anybody done this before? Any reccomendations on a good freight forwarder? I know about the VAT and all that, but does anybody have any idea how much I'd be looking at for delivery? Thanks!

    Well I'd guess you'd be looking at around 4 pallet places in size in an ambient container but you can ask these guys for a quotation. I'd guess you're looking at a couple of hundred dollars for it but I'm only involved in full containers from Southern part of the globe so can't really help beyond that.

    Item will be over €660 in value, so full customs declaration will be needed. - That's €50+ vat. Shipping will cost about €300+ vat + local charges + local delivery - Total about €€500.

    Vat will be added to cost + shipping and delivery.

    Duty is 0%

    Then when it comes to servicing, will the right parts be available. f it needs work under warranty, it won;t be handled here etc etc.

    Simply not worth it. Haggle with your local dealer or look for alternatives.

    I know my local Authorised Husqvarna Dealer and he told me it wouldn't be a problem servicing it, and after speaking to Husqvarna, they said that they'll honour the warranty if work is needed over here. I know about all the VAT and Import Duty affairs already, but the cheapest quote for shipping I have so far is $1245 and its still saving me money. Anybody know of any cheaper freight forwarders?
