You're only going for a week or two you're not emigrating. What's the point of travelling at all if not to try other experiences including the food ? Sure just head down to your local chipper for breakfast and never mind spending money to go to Spain.

I used to be flabbergasted by customs and borders TV shows where Asians and Indians (Yes, I know India is in Asia, Maybe Orientals is a better description of the people I am trying to describe) are trying to bring all sorts of high risk biosecurity foodstuffs and plant and animal matter across borders. I used to ask myself, how thick are these people, bringing food with them.

Part of the fun of travelling is the adventure, discovering new foods, drinks, customs, music etc.

For the love of jaysus, leave the rashers and sausages in fcukin Superquin and try some Potatas bravas or Paella or any of the million other delicious treats that they eat in Spain. :pac:

Save yourself the risk of food poisoning from poorly chilled meat in an overhead luggage rack and just trust the local food a little bit....It's not the third world, you can eat their food, you never know, you might even like it.

    Anything is possible.

Many Many things are pointless and unnecessary.
Bringing rashers and sausages on a plane to Spain is definitely one of them.

Generally no, you might get away with it, you might not.

There will be a thousand and one places you can get a greasy fry up when you get there, such as english / irish pubs, but why not try something local for a change ? Broaden the mind a little bit, that's the whole point of getting out of Ireland.

Superquinn sausages? No. They'd be well out of date and would be seized and destroyed at customs. I'd suggest popping down to super valu and picking up some fresh bangers. Don't refer to them as bangers in the airport though, or you won't be allowed to fly. Actually, while you're in super valu, pick up some chorizo and give it a try. Chorizo is Spanish for banger. Give it a go before you leave. ;)

    Have a great holiday!

    You will not regret it.

Superquinn's loss will be your gain.

Find a nice Tapas place, and get stuck in.:D

Iirc, in Nerja, in proper spanish bars, if you buy a tapa, you get a drink free.
If you bring sausages in an unrefrigerated flight and a transfer in the Andalusian heat, I wouldn't eat them...
