Hi there i will be visiting Singapore for a week and i know the death penalty exists for illegal drugs. I was wondering can you bring medication such as allergy tablets, and diarrheoa tablets with you before entering the country? These arent illegal in Ireland but i know Singapore has some serious restrictions and just wondering is it safe to bring these types of tablets onboard with me?

    Thanks.

If you mean over the counter stuff, this is readily available in Singapore, so not an issue.
If you got it on prescription then bring the prescription.

These are not the type of drugs they are interested in.

See Prohibited and Controlled Items list provided by the Singapore ICA. Some may laugh at the prohibition on chewing gum, but I would not get caught with it in Singapore!

I took no chances when visiting Singapore, and did not take any drugs with me, including over-the-counter. Better to be safe than sorry. Note that Singapore may classify drugs differently from Ireland, so what's OTC here may not be OTC there. If I needed a prescribed drug, I would take the prescription paperwork, not the drug with me. Some drugs are not considered prescribed, but require a pharmacist to issue. Others may be OTC, but I would still go to a pharmacist to purchase them (even aspirin), and make sure I kept the sales receipt.

I went to Singapore 2 years ago with all the usual medicines (aspirin, panadol, neurofen, immodium, motilium etc) and had no problems at all.

Like the above posters say for any prescription drugs you're bringing just make sure you've the written prescription along with you.

Was in Singapore last year. Arrived by air. Had all the usual OTC drugs, neurofen, panadol, antihistamines, and my prescription thyroid meds. Had no problem. Didn't bring the prescription either. IMO they have no interest in this kinda stuff.

SIngapore gets 20 million tourists a year, they are not in the business of being unreasonable, while still throwing the book at real drug smugglers.

You can fax your prescription ahead for confirmation.
