The Town That Travellers Took Over: Opinions

So there's a programme on TV3 at the minute about Travellers and that they apparently took over a town in Limerick. It even stretches across Europe going to France following faulty generators :P

My general opinion on Travellers is that most of them are grand and just like anyone else there's nice people and then there's not so nice.

If someone offered me 3 to 4 times the value of my house I'd probably accept it to be honest :pac:

It's very interesting stuff, anyone else watching it?

    Opinions?

I'm glad someone has taken the time to start a thread on travellers.

Far too long have they been forgotten and pushed to the back of our minds.

    Fair play OP, fair play...

I haven't a clue to be honest, I've just seen it on and decided to watch it.

I seen 2011 mentioned in the programme so apologies if it's been mentioned here before!

There's no denying there's anti social elements in the traveller community. It's a culture that breeds this sort of idiotic behavior coupled with the dying of their traditional way of life. It's a culture thats extremely dysfunctional and in crisis.

I'm sure there's honest and hardworking people in the community, but there are plenty of bad apples there too.

I've had some bad experiences with them in the past, as have friends and family members.

    I'd say there outnumbered 100 to 1:pac:

OP - this story is so old it has hairs on it. You'll be telling us next that the Americans have put a man on the moon. :D

Very nice little Town it is too. They keep it well - spotless even, which is funny, because, erm, they don't tend to keep other places so neat and tidy..maybe actual ownership focuses the mind..

Surely you didn't have to name it - there can't be anybody (conscious) in Ireland who hasn't heard of the kip place.
