illness Benefit

Hi All,
Am on illness benefit and my employer has implied if I don't return to work by a certain date, I will be fired, as I am not fit to return to work, my question is will I be entitled to statutory redundancy? I don't believe my employer will pay me any redundancy as they are firing me.Please help

Hi coathanger, you need to talk to someone familiar with employment legislation...perhaps a union rep or Citizensinformation (http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employment/enforcement_and_redress/department_of_enterprise_trade_and_employment.html).
Seems very unfair to me. Best of luck.

Many thanks for your reply,Union Rep have confirmed that this will happen, & there is nothing they can do....
