Brake Callipers, the NCT and the Two Side Rule

    Howdy all,

Quick question for the NCT experienced.

I changed one rear caliper as it was kaput. The other is causing issues but may just need some refurb. If this is the case, will there be NCT implications? The source of the problem may be the handbrake cables which I am investigating.

I know that pads and discs should be changed on both sides but I don't know about the callipers and NCT issues as a result.

    Thanks!

    Calipers can be changed individually.

    Yeah, It'll be grand.
Had to change one on my Pug and it sailed through the NCT

Cool, so there would not be any issues about brake balance? T'was what I was warned against.

From a newb point of view, I would guess that the caliper can either work or not with a dampness showing an issue so I guess their braking power would be fine between old (14 years old) and new.

I did service (clean up a bit :) ) the other caliper, just to be sure and put new fluid in.
No out of balance and the new caliper was 16 years younger
