    Hi all,

I've been called for interview in which I have to do a presentation!!! The thought of this is terrifying, haven't done a presentation in Years.
The topic of presentation is on family support strategy for a rural area using community development principles......
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to compile this 10 minute presentation

So is your problem related to delivery of the presentation or the 'composition'?

If it's delivery, then practise it lots of times - that's how you get confident. Shanghai friends and family and use them as your audience.

As for the presentation itself, I presume you have all the knowledge, so you need to approach it logically.

What are the relevant community development principles?

Summarise these and use them to outline a family support strategy.

Then expand on your strategy - implementation etc

    Summary

Your pres. needs a clear beginning, middle and end. Don't lose sight of this. Tell them what you're going to tell them, tell them, and then tell them what you told them - works well.

If you're using Powerpoint, keep the text large and in bullet-points - no big chunks of small text.

Use a few pictures or diagrams (even a pic of a happy family in a rural setting - kids playing in a forest. Do a couple of simple diagrams.)

Don't read from the PP slide - have your own notes.

Maybe bring copies of your pres as handouts - makes you look thorough.

    See? Easy isn't it? ;-)

    G'luck.
