Aer Lingus - Cabin Bag + Suit?

    Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone might have an answer to this.
I am travelling next week on an overnight business trip and flying with aerlingus.

I intend to bring a (cabin) bag (like a schoolbag size) with just mini toiletries, phone charger and laptop in it.

If I could help it, I'd rather not wear my suit over and I was wondering if Aer Lingus permit you to bring one of those suit cover/carriers (e.g. suit on a hanger, covered zipped over it and then folded over) in additional to your cabin bag.

    Cheers

My OH and I travelled with Aer Lingus to a wedding last month. He had a carry-on wheeled suitcase and a suit in one of those light covers with a hanger. As we were boarding, the ground staff said he was pushing it bringing on both items, as the suit would be considered too large to be a personal item. We were allowed on "just this once".

So, I'm guessing if your carry-on bag is small, it might be OK, but it could still depend on the ground staff you encounter on the day.

Your generally allowed a laptop bag along with your carry on bag, in this case, the suit.

+1 They are very flexible and clearly have a policy of putting as much distance as possible between themselves and Ryanair when it comes to carry-on bags. If you're travelling on an early morning flight then they may be less flexible and start taking bags from people at the gate to put in the hold but for an afternoon or evening flight (excl. Fridays) there shouldn't be any problem.

    Hi,
I've a quick question regarding Ryanair baggage.

I'm flying with Ryanair for the first time from Dublin to Frankfurt and I was wondering if i'm allowed to bring two laptops with me. I haven't checked in any baggage and I will only be carrying my purse (in which i'm planning to carry one laptop) and a carry on in which i'm planning to put the other laptop in. Would I encounter and trouble with the security there, would I have to pay extra duty or something?

Ryanair now allow you to bring two pieces of hand luggage. The acceptable dimensions are here http://www.ryanair.com/ie/terms-and-conditions/regulations-cabinbaggage/

Just be aware you're not actually flying to Frankfurt, your actually flying to a town called Hahn, which is 120km from Frankfurt, it's about a 2 hour bus journey from Frankfurt. There usually are busses there waiting for the incoming Ryanair flights.

I flew with them last week to Barcelona and had a cabin suitcase with a suit bag - no issues. Besides, new policies have been introduced that allow a cabin bag/case plus an extra item.

Security will normally ask more questions if travelling with two laptops...but usually not an issue FYI
