bus timetable query

Getting a bus eireann bus from limerick to Athlone tomorrow, on the timetable it says R next to some stops which stands for request to stop, is this when you are on the bus or when you are waiting at the bus stop. I want to get on at one of the R stops

Both. You have to estimate the time it stops there, unless it tells you, and flag it down when you see it. It'll only stop at an official Bus Eireann stop. In the reverse, tell the driver when you're boarding that you want yo get off at a request stop.
