So, Does anyone think they will be cheap? obviously the ticket will be but will it be a tenner for a bottle of water and 50 for some dinner?
I have flown many times to the states and ate nothing on the plane, I can't wait to see what there deals are gonna be like and where they will fly too.
I don't normally fly ryaniar anywhere.

As this is a hypothetical subject I'd say it would be more appropriate for Aviation and Aircraft where by the way it has been discussed to death.

If they decide to operate on the North Atlantic, they will not be allowed to stuff people in a plane for 7 hours and make them pay for food so they will be operating under completely rules which in my book means they will never do it.

Reason I mentioned it was I read in the Mirror about Ryanairs profits and the last paragraph was:

"Meanwhile, boss Michael O'Leary suggested Ryanair would start offering flights to the USA by 2019. " we will start with this as soon as we get the planes ", he said."

You refute my suggestion that this is a hypothetical topic and your authority is the Daily Mirror and Michael O'Leary

You do recall that O'Leary has spun stories about charging people by weight, charging to use the loo and has even suggested that they will remove toilets altogether on short flights. All of which was complete BS but faithfully printed by newspapers eager to fill their columns with anything from that mad Irish Mick.

Please don't quote MOL and expect us to take it seriously, it's about generating coverage in the press.

no refute, no authority. plenty of BS though.

I doubt that you have ever flown to the US if you claim to have refused the meals they offered you. Seven hours westbound and you fasted all the way?

Reality check: you don't pay for the food on board transatlantic flights.

With Norwegian Air you do!!! They charge for food. I would think Ryanair would do the same

Could be a publicity stunt, definitely don't think they will be at the price he is saying, what was it a tenner or something. Maybe the very first Ryanair transatlantic flight they do will be but they can't last that low.

I think the Irish tourism industry will be the huge benefactor with cheap Ryanair transatlatic flights and Failte Ireland should push for it heavily. Just think how many millions of people live in the Boston to NYC area that would love to be able to come to Ireland for a long holiday weekend (and have never been). The flight times are no worse than New York to Los Angeles (especially if not direct but yes the jet lag is much worse) and going to Europe on holiday feels exotic to the average American.

As long as the flight is comparable in price to a cross country US flight, it will be a big success. It would also raise Dublin Airport's status as a European hub for through travel. There is nothing not to like so I hope they find a way. I can certainly pack my own lunch though I wish I could pack my own drinks too but that is not possible with current airport security :)
