Bike fitting around Dublin 15

Has anybody here been for a bike fit in CycleZone in Blanchardstown village? How did you find it? Is there any assessment off the bike? How much is done by eye?

My own story is I've been struggling with a (non cycling related) back injury since last year but am trying to get back on the bike. I don't want to spend €70 on the fit and then have my back give out after a week regardless, but at the same time would love to be back cycling.

Is there €70 worth of benefit to be had from a fit that I couldn't just get by asking a shop to fit a shorter/higher stem for me?

Not asking medical advice of course, just about the value of a fit and anyone's experiences in CycleZone. Any other recommendations welcome too!

There's an app called fast bike fit. Haven't tried it but I've downloaded it for renting abroad etc.

Cycleways were ok. There's a dude there who is sound and he did a non video one that was good and he charged me around 60 or 70.

I wasn't in pain before but it felt better afterwards

IMO it's valuable even if only to get a better idea of what style of frame suits you best

I've never been in CycleZone so can't comment on them but you definitely can't go wrong with either Aidan Hammond or Dom in Base2Race. I wouldn't go to anyone else.

    + 1 for Aidan Hammond
He does an injury assessment before he even touches the bike
Little bit dearer but well worth it

+1 for bike fitting at Base2Race. Have done about 4,000km on the bike since getting it fitted including a 7 hour sportive. Never any serious discomfort.

If you need a new stem / seat post with Aidan Hammond, I'm assuming that's added onto the €120 for the bike fit?
Does he have them there or do you have to source them yourself?
    Thanks

Emailed him during the week. Yes, he has them. I didn't ask but surely the price is added to the €120.

Couple of weeks of wait time for both him and Base2Race. A month or so if you need a weekend slot.

I have a friend who got a fit with Aidan and he needed a longer stem, which added an extra €30 to the cost of the session if I remember correctly.

Yes. I also had a new stem fitted. He had a selection in stock. €30 fitted.

Go to Staggs in Lucan. Great lads who depend on their good reputation
