So i lost my job over a year ago, i had a car van as my only veichle and the money i paid for it its not wrath me selling it just to buy a car to drive around cos i hope to get work again doing my trade. But tax office made me declare the cars viechle for private use as they wanted me to sign some garda form saying the van could only be driven for work purposes if i taxed it commercially, now a year later my tax is due and also there is no test on the van,
what do i do? tax it again as a private cos I'm not working but how do i test it then? do i test it at a DOE centre or do i have to NCT it? which will the tax office look for off me when i go into them.

any help and advice be much appreciated thank you very much.

You have to tax it privately, you cannot NCT a van. How it is taxed does not affect how it is tested

The log book has the taxation as private, but it's registered as a commercial vehicle, so requires a CRVT test (new name for DOE).
