Vietnam Visa On Arrival - not sure if legit

    Hi,

I have used the website http://www.vietnamvisa.govt.vn to book a Vietnam Visa on arrival.

I got a return email 2 days letter from visa@airvietnamairlines.com with an attachment of a pre-approved form.

However, the form shows the names, DOBs, nationalities and passport numbers of myself and 17 unknown people

Does this seem dodgy? How can I verify it's legitimacy or protect myself against fraud?

I got a visa for Vietnam through and agency and i was one of 20 names on it. Agencies block book these visas so you should be fine. I had no issue besides a 25 minute que at immigration

    Hi,
We used this same service in 2011, ours came back just the same with loads of other peoples details on, it's just the way they process them there it works just fine, you wont have any problems. I hope you enjoy your trip it really is a great country.

It's fine. Was the same when I went. They just don't seem to care as much about dates protection.

Is used this last year. You just get directed to a slightly different area on arrival and are processed then. It is a little bit slower than if you have a preorganized visa - but you usually get through before your bags, so no delay.

Have a great time - amazing country, sights, people, food etc. Also really cheap!

Also if you are doing visa on arrival, don't forget you need a printed passport photo with you to attach to your visa.

Yes, the online Visa's are accepted at Airports.

Beware, if you are traveling into Vietnam by road you will need to get a Visa from the embassy. When I was traveling in South East Asia we crossed the boarder by road from Cambodia. A couple my friends got turned away because the online Visa was not accepted at the crossing point.

I had a 1.5 hour wait using VOA in Saigon in December. Just got unlucky with a couple of international arrivals at the same time. Most people get through faster but allow yourself for the possibility of a delay.

yes, OP, this is standard for many agencies processing visa approval letters. Presumably, they only have to pay the one processing fee but can charge numerous customers for this service.
If you want to keep your details more private in future, I would recommend as they do private applications.
