gui vouchers to pro shop account

I have a gui voucher for 50 quid and was hoping to pick up a new driver this year at some stage. I will be playing in more comps where the prizes are nearly always vouchers.

I was wondering do pro shops take them and hold them on an account for more than the 3 months they are valid for. For instance can I hand it in to a pro shop create an account and add others to it during the year and maybe pick up a new driver at xmas.

The Pro shop should be able to take the voucher and cash it now, at the same time giving you credit for the shop to spend whenever you want.

I've never seen the GUI vouchers. Can they be used in all club pro shops? Or stores like halpenny, American Golf, etc?

Ive used them in mcgregors before so I assume the others take them too

    Edit

    In McGuirks even, autocorrect!

The GUI are very good with allowing any business to accept them. Any (AFAIK) business can just post the voucher off to them and get a cheque in return, I know a hotel that accepts them.
Plus I was able to use a euro GUI voucher in the Golf Store Europe in Northern Ireland

They sound great. Would love if my club used them

I won a GUI voucher last year and was asked where I won it as the shop in question would not have accepted it if it was from a certain club or two which leads me to believe it's the club that provides the cash, but that is open to correction...

I think it is the club that provides the cash alright, the shop you use it in fills out the bottom half I think and sends it to the club who forward back the cash.

6 or 7 podium finishes in one season? You must have lost quite a few shots.

A lot of them were in a society I play in, a couple were in open comps at the club lost 4 shots in total.

No definitely not. Amateurs can't win cash prizes.

That's what I thought as well. But I know of a person who did 2 weeks ago in a scratch cup. Obviously he was delighted!
