    My fellow Boards members

Two of my friends (both regular posters) and myself are setting of on an epic two day round trip from Malahide Co. Dublin to Rosses Point in Sligo this weekend in aid of a local Malahide Charity http://www.rossnugentfoundation.ie/

we are hoping to follow the below route

Just wondering if there may be any weekend club spins out along the route that could join us and try to make the distance all more enjoyable

    thanks :):)

Well done lads on completing your first leg 250k into a strong breeze with a group of only 3 is a huge achievement. Safe travels tomorrow.

    well what an epic,

Day 1 Saturday was a an immense effort and 240km total. A really tough day in the saddle and the wind was just non stop into our faces all day.

A few issues with the Sat Nav brought us on a merry dance around the hills and valleys in Cavan, when we eventually surfaced onto the N4 after Moyhill we were glad to see an open road with a nice surface........

or so we thought with the wind having a totally different view on proceedings. We dug deep and grinded our way to Rosses Point to a much needed pint of Guinness and to eat everything in sight.

Day 2 and everyone was scrambling for the phones to pray for some assistance from the wind and the Sat Nav was told to be on its best behaviour. We set of with a light breeze at our backs and it kept spirits high. The route home was alot more direct with the main food stop in Longford and heading towards Trim after passing Mullingar. The weather in the midlands tried to dampen our moods but spirits were high. We rolled into Malahide last night at aprx 8.45pm to a great reception outside Duffys.

see below strava links for each day, luckily the guys had all recorded their spins because of course my Iphone decided to give up its battery on both days but it just an excuse to invest in a Garmin now :)

stay tuned for a full report of the weekend and also some pics
