    Hi everyone,

I had a look at a few threads but cant really make heads or tails of some things. I would appreciate any help or guidance that you might have. I have a degree from UL in economics and Finance, I have been applying for a few jobs but I am having no luck. A few professionals have advised me of going down the accountancy route. I know I have a few exemptions already because I have done accountancy modules already ( I am not sure what accounting exemptions I have though). What I am asking is how do I go about doing the exams on my own or whatever? should I try to get into a company first and then take them or should I try and take them myself. I am lost in this so any help would be great or even pointing me in the right direction would be great. Thanks again!

It really depends on what route you want to take as there are a number of different accounting qualifications that you can get and each will have its own requirements.
The main professional accounting bodies each have detailed websites with sections aimed at prospective students so these should be your starting point to give you an idea of what route you want to take and possibly even check to see what exemptions your particular degree will get you.
