Back Acne

Hi all, I need some advice on products that will clear back acne. I have acne on my back, upper arms and across my chest. The skin on my chest looks clogged. I have used different shower gels, I exfoliate and moisturise regularly but nothing helps the acne. How can I get rid of it? I'm starting to get really self conscious about it, so any advice would be hugely appreciated!

Hi! The only advice i have is to tip your head forward when rinsing your hair after shampooing/conditioning, as it can clog the pores on your back if you let it run down your back. Loose fitting clothes made from natural fibres will probably help too.

Hey OP, have you tried tea-tree soap? They're usually available in all chemists or health food places. I've heard it can be really great, but maybe just check with the salesperson to make sure it wouldn't be too harsh on your skin type.

I developed this almost year ago and it came almost out of nowhere. I went to my gp about it and he said it was something called follicleitis (spelling unsure) where the skin follicles had become irritated for some reason. Gave me give days of medication and it cleared right up. I has started to feel very self conscious about it and even though I wouldn't usually be one for going to the gp in such haste, I wanted rid of the issue.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I think the products I'm using at the moment are too harsh for my skin so I'm going to check if tea tree soap would be suitable. Dee, I completely agree with you about tipping my hair forward, I'm doing it already but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be making much of a difference. I've had this for well over a year now, so I'm thinking I probably need to speak to a GP.

I can't use conditioner at all or I will break out on my back, chest and behind my ears/neck.

There's a lovely spray on, leave in conditioner I use sometimes, http://www.boots.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/EndecaSearchListerView?storeId=10552&searchTerm=leave%20in%20conditioner&catalogId=19051&langId=-1&searchTerm=leave%20in%20conditioner&t1_N=4294923275#container
Does the trick and only goes where you want it :)

I can only speak from my own experience, I tried loads of stuff, creams, shower gels with salcylic acid etc.

The only thing that worked for me was the soap in the attached image.

There are a few different Australian tea tree oil soaps but the exact one in the picture is the one I find best. To make it easier to identify - the one im
On about has a hole in the front of the box packaging as opposed to a totally sealed box.

It can be bought in health store shops around Dublin - the one opposite tesco in Dundrum and the one in frascati are 2 of them.

Have your partner squeeze the spots completely to excise the inflection. Then use witch hazel to act as an astringent and dry the spots out. Wash well thrice daily and it should clear.
