IWM Duxford - get there by public transport?

Hi all,

I am attending an airshow at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Cambridge on Saturday (24th May). I wish to have a look around the museum on Thursday and Friday.

The last time I visited Duxford in 2010 I was able to get a bus C7 from Cambridge to the museum. From what I have learned online it no longer runs to the museum. The Cambridge City Sightseeing company used to operate a shuttle bus to the museum. I emailed them and they said they no longer operate the service.

It looks like I’ll have to take a taxi from Cambridge to the museum.

Has anyone travelled to Duxford museum (not on an airshow day) this year or last year? If so, how did you get there? By taxi or bus?

Take the train from Cambridge stn. (CBG). to Whittlesford Parkway stn.(WLF) and walk west for about 30 mins.

The trains are regular, cheap and quick.

I was there last year, travelled by taxi from Cambridge, ride was quite cheap and driver left his card so we call him personally on our way back for even cheaper return. What we got for our return was an unmarked car, no meters, obviously a friend or a relative of the driver, but we got back to Cambridge, no hassle, rate was as promised, unfortunately I don't remember the price, but comparing to Dublin rates it seemed really cheap.

There are also flights direct from Dublin to Cambridge now.

I took the new service to cambridge today with Cityjet, excellent service no long queues etc... and Cambridge airport was like 30ft from plane to outside

If flying to Stansted take train from Stansted to Cambridge normally buses operate from the Cambridge train stn to duxford very efficient
