Hi all. I'm looking for a clip-on/sun visor bluetooth hands free speaker/microphone - but want to buy one that's fit for purpose (not buy cheap, buy twice!).

Anyone using one of these? Can you recommend?

Looking for one that does the basics well and has good battery life. I also like to play back a podcast on my way home from work - so would like it to be good enough to do this.

Need one that will accept 2x bluetooth connections (for 2x phones)

One that facilitates Samsung S-voice (samsungs version of the iphone's 'siri') would be nice - though not essential.

I got this about a year ago (using parcel motel for the free UK delivery):

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0039YP2VG/ref=pe_385721_37038051_pe_217191_31005151_3p_M3T1_dp_1

It won't play podcasts through it or use s-voice but will take a couple of phones. Very easy to use, decent battery, and for the money you can't go wrong.

Thanks to you both. If I'm going to the bother, I'd like to be able to stream from smartphone to bluetooth speaker so I can play back podcasts on my commute home from work - and also s-voice (samsung) support.

Had one of these, and in all honesty it was pure shite. Complete pain to use. Call quality was good, but forgetting to have it charged was where my trouble arose. Granted, it is a cheap option for a handsfree.

I had the same intention for mine, but in reality it just didn't work well. Mine had an FM transmitter for the radio, but quality was poor and it killed the battery life. And not playing through the transmitter was just awful quality for podcasts/music.

You'd almost be as well sitting one of these on your dash!

Presumably mileage varies depending upon which one I go for - that's why I'm looking for recommendations before I buy.

I can't really justify fully installed version - might change car before I get the full value back out of it.

I can highly recommend one of these. Had mine for over a year. Battery lasts for ages before you have to recharge it.
Pair your phone, and it instantly recognises it when you get in the car.
I've had a few crap/cheapies in the past, but this one does exactly what it says on the tin.

Some of those recommendations are very dear, I bought one a couple of years back for about £15 and it does the job perfectly.

If you check the likes of 7DAYSHOP or MYMEMORY.CO.UK there are plenty under £20 delivered.

I bought mine for £15 and its working fine.
Of course the £80 ones will likely have better features, but mine serves its purpose of allowing me to take calls whilst driving. No-one has ever been unable to hear me when talking, so £15 well spent.

My mother has a Sony Ericsson HCB-108. Its unreal, battery lasts forever and sound quality and loudness is spot-on.

    Hi all. Thanks for your posts. I appreciate getting value for money - and normally with stuff, I go low end. However, I want these features;

    1. Good battery life
    2. A relatively decently functioning speaker/microphone
    3. Ability to play back podcasts originating from my smartphone
    4. Supports Samsungs s-voice application (for voice control, etc).

Many of you have made recommendations on the basis of 1 & 2. I *think* Georges one will play back podcasts/music from my smartphone. Can you confirm that for definite George?

I've come up empty re. my query re. support for samsung/s-voice. I guess if I simply can't find something that covers this, then I'll have to settle for for the first three features.

Honestly... I've never tried to pair anything other than my iPhone.
I'll have a try with my iPod, at let you know if it works

I've had a Supertooth Buddy for the last 18 months or so. Great sound and no issues at all. I bought it in Halfords.

I have a Jabra Cruiser 2 in a drawer that I got free with a phone upgrade one time.

Used it for a few weeks while I was swapping between cars last year and found it very good for what it is. These things are never going to be as good as a proper integrated solution, but this was one of the better ones.

We also have a lot of their headsets in the office and I have a USB speakerphone on my desk here from them that's excellent.

Yes... I can happily report that my iPod connected successfully, and music was streaming. I didn't even have to tell the iPod to play from the Supertooth, it just did it.
Actually sounded half decent as well, but I'd say it would be handy enough to listen to podcasts.. Hope this helps :D

Hi All. I just wanted to come back and provide feedback. Initially, I got the Jabra Cruiser 2. It did the job - but despite it's claims - it wouldn't connect 2x phones simultaneously. I kept having to re-pair the phone(s) to it.

In any case, I found a home for it (gave it to a family member who only uses the one phone).

Tried a second time and took georgefalls recommendation. Got the supertooth HD Voice (£46 on amazon with free delivery to ROI) and it's working flawlessly. Pairs both phones simultaneously and no re-pairing necessary.

    Thanks all for your suggestions.
