Connect houses via wireless

Hi guys. Wasnt sure if this should go here or the Wireless forum but that seems to be more about wireless in computers and laptops. I'm looking for info on wirelessly connecting together three houses out in the sticks. They are in a line so the house in the middle can see both the others but the first house cannot see the third and vice versa. I had a quick look at ubiquiti kit but dont know exactly what I need. I'd like 100Mb - 400Mb speeds for streaming and file transfer. The houses have line of site and the distance from one house to the next is 350m so ~700m from house 1 to house 3. Any advice welcome. Also if anyone knows a company that would do this work in Munster please share.

Go with 5Ghz, put a Ubiquiti Rocket m5 and omni antenna on a pole on middle house and a Nanostation m5 on the other 2 houses

Don't use Rockets or Omnis, you're spraying the signal everywhere unnecessarily and losing speed at the same time, everyone putting up these 5Ghz links and not knowing what they're doing (especially omnis) is causing hell for WISPS.
Use 2.4GHz

Get four of these., so you have one antenna for each house, keep them physically seperated as much as you can too to avoid interference, like one at each gable end of the house if possible.

Realistically you won't get anymore than 95 megabits since the ethernet ports are 10/100.

Use 5Ghz gear - baby cameras and all sorts of things are on 2.4

Trust me, 2.4Ghz will work fine, since they're directional they won't see too much noise.
You can also use channel shifting to help avoid interference.

I have a link with two of the older 2.4ghz Locos on my own roof and they max out at full speed, despite four other 2.4ghz APs on my roof/inside and nearby.

30 Mb, which is the limit of the legacy hardware.

I have a pair of Mikrotik 5.8Ghz Sxtants can do 120Mb+ over 250meters, they also have gigabit ports :cool:

It would be mad to go with 2.4Ghz, 2.4Ghz is too small, the channels overlap and you need to use it inside the houses. With 5.8Ghz there are plenty of channels and they don't overlap. You can do a scan and keep well away from whatever Isp's are using in your area. The frequencies are unlicensed, anyone can use them

I see the Ubiqiti stuff uses 24GHz, is that even better again since its unused anywhere else?

Ideally we would use fibre and it would be just like that video, we own the land between our houses so that wouldn't be an issue. Any ideas on the cost of running fibre to each of the houses, terminating and connecting to local network equipment. I had discounted it because I thought it would be too expensive

Maybe I should look more into the fibre route. If that's too expensive then those 4 Ubiquiti 5Ghz Loco's might do the trick.

And I would need two pairs because no line of sight which is £1600 or €2000. Thats out of my price range for a pet project tbh. Any ideas on the cost of laying fibre between the houses. I read that the biggest cost is the digging up the roads but the land between us is our own so that shouldn't be an issue.

What good is fibre without duplex connectors? You'd have to pay someone to add connectors
