anyone ever purchased tyres online?... just wondering if anyone could recommend a good website...

Have looked at one of two and they look to be much cheaper than in some bricks n mortar shops...

don't forget to add the cost of shipping, fuel to drive them to a tire shop and the cost of fitting to any prices you are looking at.

generally i've found when you factor these things in, the difference can be minimal and imo it's a fair bit of hassle to save a small few euro.

also its nice to shop local because everybody is giving out about the lack of jobs, but what do you expect when people will shop outside the state to save a marginal amount (i assume camskill tyres). i'd always try buy parts etc local before i buy online.

    rant over, sorry :)

    Camskill are good.

Bought 4x vredistein ultrac sessanta 225/40/R18's for €420 delivered and got themfitted and aligned locally firfor €80.

Cheapest local price was €600 w/o alignment.

Still same tyres and €100+ in my pocket

On top of that local places were saying 2 weeks to get them in whereas camskill had them delivered to my door in 4 days

oponeo.ie. Have used them twice, 8 tyres bought, no issues. Fitting cost me 50 quid for 4 in my local place

The problem with Vredestein in Ireland is the distributor would like to wholesale the tyre to a tyre centre at the same price that you've sourced them from camskill or openeo.

The option I would recommend in that size is Uniroyal's Rain Sport 3. Its superior to that Vredestein tyre in all aspects and can be sourced cheaper than €420 delivered here in Ireland.

I used oponeo in the last month or so. Great service, had them after 5 working days. And 60 to get them fitted and balanced.

Had I shopped around I think I may have found a place with similar pricing. But the tires I wanted weren't terribly popular or common, so I just went with the online option. I'd definitely buy again, but do your sums.

i have the Vrederstein Wintac extreme 245/45/18s from Oponeo and Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics for summer and both were substantially cheaper than anything I could get here. 300-500 cheaper between the sets.

I've also bought Vredesteins online from Camskill, no problems whatsoever. A similar tyre here would've cost at least €650, having called a few places.

I got them for €430, and fitted for €50.

Have used camskill and eiretyres in the past. Camskill are quick and never any hassle. Eiretyres delivery was stupidly slow.
I find if looking for anything premium branded in 18" or bigger, the local shops take the piss. Its immediately 200+ per tyre.

Ive found Vredestein sessantas to be a fantastic tyre in terms of wet grip and overall handling. Certainly suited my car and that is comparing them to the factory fitted michelin pilot sport. Have not seen a realistic price for the vredesteins here though.

Used camskill and eiretyres.com - would recommend both of them.

Ecpecially if one lives far away from big towns with plenty of tyre sellers to choose from.

Once you live in a small village and a number of tyre places in towns nearby are selling only nankangs, linglongs, landsails etc. - the choice is obvious. :)

I usually use eiretyres and get a good price. You need to have someone lined up to fit etc.
