Of course. It depends on what the job is, what your experience is, how you come across and who is interviewing you.

I know many people who have gotten to senior positions in US companies without degrees.

They do but if you need a green card you won't get one without a third level qualification.

Is she talking about working in the US or working for a multinational here?

    Not sure now...

Well from personal experience, our company couldn't get a US work permit for an employee because he didn't have a third level qualification. He'd been working for us for 2+ years as well and had skills which couldn't be found in the states.

I just googled "work permit requirements USA" and the first result said you must have a degree OR twelve years work experience.

There seems to be a company transfer visa which does not require a degree or a lot of experience.

    Google is your friend...

I'm sure it looks great to a prospective employer but it's immigration you need to prove it to and from what I was told, no degree = no chance.

There a few on boards here that don't have degree and stayed working for company after moving to the states.

The company state side has to prove that they can't someone from the states to do the same job as the person looking to do the same job from the company

The degree thing isn't the be all and end all for getting the visa. It's not a requirement if other criteria are met.

Read regarding L1 Visas. You won't need a degree but you'll require the relevant work experience within the company.
