Urban Night Cyclists is a Dublin based community for the nocturnal bike rider/enthusiast. Dublin Is a fantastic place to cycle but it can be quite hectic to get around during the day, ducking and diving through Dublin Buses, tactical maneuvering by toxic taxis - Urban Night Cycling cuts all that out.

So, with that said, UNC will aim to organize weekly night time cycles throughout the city between the hours of 00.00am and 3.00am - (please bring lights)

find us on facebook for details about upcoming cycles search "urban night cyclists dublin"

The first cycle has been organised for tuesday 27th May 2014 meeting at custom house quay!

How long will the spin be? Also what sort of pace? Could beginners go? I have never cycled in a club, commute in and out of work that's it really.

You can also do all that between 5 and 7

2 hours maybe 3 hours tops..its completely up to the rider how long they want to stay out for, you can drop off or go your own way at any time..absolutely, beginners welcome..it will be a casual pace nothing too serious! as i mentioned the first cycle has been organised for the 27th of May, meeting at customs house quay at midnight and cycling towards dun laoghaire pier..its about 22km total (give or take) you should come along.

I do enjoy cycling at night, but won't make this. It's amazing being up the hills on a clear night with just your lights to be seen for miles.

It sounds as if it'll be fine.

Night cycles are less pressing in a city that's already perfectly cycleable though.

They're usually popular in places like Sao Paulo where you take your life in your hands cycling during the day.

Cheers. I might give it a go-never been cycling in Dublin that time of night!

Well I've seen plenty of cars driving through the 'midnight green' if that makes the decision any easier.

Is there anyone from here going tonight?

Can I ask why this is organised for a Tuesday? (when people need to go to work the next day).

Great idea though. I love cycling at night for some reason.

I agree, but the whole point is to cycle when nobody is around!

Spare a thought for those of us (270,000) who do not work "Monday to Friday" and who regularly find ourselves working at weekends when the vast majority of activities are organised for!

What about cycles from 10pm to 12 weekdays, I regularly head out at that time and find traffic to be nearly gone

Would be well up for this if it was a Friday or Saturday aswell
