    Could be anywhere near 10-12kw output required.
    Depends on a few things really;
    - Level of Insulation.
    - Number of Windows (glazing?
    - Doors off of room.
    - Height of Ceiling

    In reality, a new build house with good insulation could get away with an 8kw but in reality you'd be best going on the side of caution with a 10-12kw. (Best to be looking at it than looking for it!).

    Also looking at putting in a stove - room heater only for kitchen. Size 30 sq metres. Any recommendations for makes/models? Thanks.

    Probably something around 6kw should be fine. So a Henley Aran, Mazona Olive are nice options at the lower end of the price scale. Moving up in price, you could look at the Aarrow Ecoburn 7 or Inis Airc.
