    Howdy,

The pressure in my boiler is dropping from 1.5 bar to zero within 30 mins to 1 hour.
It is a leak for sure , as the boiler engineer checked everything.
My question is.. is this a big leak that a sealer would be wasted on ?

A leak sealer would be pointless. Make sure it's not passing through the PRV. if This happening all of a sudden then it could well be a pinhole in the cylinder coil

What boiler is it , if it's a HE it could be a split heat exchanger ... I know an engineer who got caught out by that not to long ago ...... Plonker ;)

Well I'm hoping that the engineer would have known about them possible scenarios ?
I have myself convinced i can hear a hissing under a certain area.
    Its a ferroli modena

If it's dropping that much in such a short time it's substantial. There should be a discharge pipe outside at the back of the boiler. Check that pipe and see if it's dripping or wet.

What ever you do, don't let anyone put an auto fill valve on the system.

There is no water outside I have checked that. Looks like ill be lifting floorboard an getting under to fix.
Are compression couplers ok to use.. Are they a temp or permanent fix ?

Compression fittings are fine to use. If the pipe is qual pex don't forget the inserts.
