Population of Swords

Hi guys,

This is just one for curiosity but I was looking at a wiki page on Swords which stated that the population of Swords (Electoral area) was a whopping 68,000 and the Urban area was 42,000

Then looking at another wiki page I saw this stat suggesting the population (Urban) to be 36,000 (it's require a bit of scrolling down to get to the table but that might just be my notebook)

and finally this article which again states 36,000 but then suggests the electoral are puts it over 40,000.

So anyone know (A) what the population of Swords actually is and (B) what constitutes the Electoral area (and why the disparity of almost 18,000)?

The population of Swords and the surrounding area from the 2011 census. The following is a breakdown of the population of Swords taken from the 2011 records. The number of people living in Swords in 2011 has risen substantially and the estimate is now 46,000 from the figure of 41,000 in 2006.

Forest Road 12,443 This area of Swords includes the housing estates of Rivervalley, Boroimhe, Ridgewoof, Hawthorn Park, Highfields, Ballintrane Wood,

Rathbeale 7799 This area of Swords reflects the population of the following area, Rathbeale Roan, St. Columbas, Rathbeale Estate, Glasmore Park, Moortown Park, Abbeylea

Estate, Elmwood, Pinegrove, Daleview, St. Andrews Park, Cianlea, Ardcian, St. Cronans, Swords Manor, Valleyview, Parkview, Brackinstown Road.

Lissenhall 9072 which includes, Balheary, Applewood, Sandford Wood, Southbank, Jugback, Glen Ellan, Castleview, Bumbury Gate, Broadmeadows.

Drynam 5526 , including Drynam Road, Melrose Park, Kinsealy Downs, Foxwood, Malahide Road, Milesian. Seamount View, Ashley.

Seatown 5934 which includes Seatow Villas, Seatown Terrace, Seatown Park, Estuary Court, Gartan Drive, Newcourt

Swords Village 2514 including, Swords Main Street, Longlands, Chaple Lane, St. Colmcilles Park, Castle Ave,Park Drive And Grove, Church Road, Oaklands

So I'm thinking the below is the Swords Urban area and the figure over the 60,000 relates to the Electoral area.

The (2008) electoral area includes parts of Santry and Ballymun, all of Donabate and large areas north and west of Swords.

I get the impression the 2013 area is much the same.

As above, the current Swords Ward includes Northwood, Santry Villas, Royal Oak, Turnapin. It also includes Meakstown which is Lanesborough and Charlestown. But it doesn't include Holywell or Drynam!
