    Hello.

You don't say which model your after. Stay away from the Pro Carbon if you can (speed shimmy problems) not everybody will agree with this & will never have a shimmy problem. Maybe my frame was built on a Monday morning or a Friday evening, two friends of mine have the same problems, we all have medium frames. Only cured the problem when i replaced the AL30 wheels (which creaked like hell on my bike when sprinting) with a decent set of Shimano wheels. I also renewed the headset bearings with an FSA Pig headset & lowered the handle bar stack height. Answer, no more shimmies.

I would go for the 57 or 58 models, never heard a bad thing about these bikes. To be fair to Planet-X you do get plenty bang for your buck. I have never had any other problems with any other parts bought from them.

Good luck with your purchase. BUT THE PRO CARBON HAS AN OUT & OUT SHIMMY PROBLEM.

I'd stay clear of Planet X altogether as there bikes are crap and there customer service even worse ..
Long story but they supplied a dodgy frame and then wouldn't stand over it

I have two Planet X bikes, a Nanolight carbon and a Carbon Pro. My son has a Carbon Pro. Neither of us has had a moment's trouble with any of them.
I do about 15,000 Kms per year in total on mine. My son does about 10,000 Kms. per year.
Not a sign of a shimmy between us.
I use Planet X AL30s on one of my bikes. Good value for the price, bearings are not marvellous, but are easily replaced, for about a fiver.
All in all, Planet Xs are great value.

Can also confirm I've never had any speed wobble on my Planet-X SL Pro Carbon. Can't really fault the bike too much in general, it's a very dated but proven design.

I've got a pro carbon and I love it, I didn't buy it because it was a Planet X, after riding a friends one and liking it I decided to buy one and never had any issues bar the usual wear and tear etc

For every bike built you will find someone to knock it, so take one for a spin and see if you like it and ignore the Planet X doom and gloom squad :)

If there so bad imagine how good he would be on a good bike I had a Giant defy advanced and bought a planet x and now think the planet x is a better bike to cycle the reason suppliers put down planet x is they cannot give the same quality bike @ that price I was told that by a well known bike shop also I have had mine up around 85kph and it was as solid as a rock .

Please note for anybody who may read the above answer. I did not write off Planet-X as a company on the whole. They make great bikes, I just had a problem with my Pro- Carbon which now rides like it is on rails. I also have a P-X MTB which is fantastic. So. People should read the above carefully before thrashing Planet - X.
